Walking Holidays in Lesbos
Dear Dimitra,
This has taken me so long I suppose you thought I wasn't going to bother. However I would like to say how much John and I enjoyed our walking holiday in Lesvos. The walking was good with clear, easy to follow instructions. The only time we went even slightly off course was when The Greek Walking Club (or whoever put up the signs) caused some confusion.
It was great being able to just pop down to the (empty) beach in Vatera and have the Aegean all to ourselves. The meals were great, eating what was prepared for you, no choices to make, was something we particularly enjoyed.
Initially we were disappointed to be moving on from Vatera - we liked it at your apartments ( Madonna Studios ) - but Plomari was absolutely wonderful. So much so that we decided to give the walking a miss and just wander around the town for 2 days!
I would like to think that we will come back one day, it was a fabulous holiday.

Just Perfect

The natural setting of the accommodation is beautiful and peaceful, as are the gardens around Madonna Studios. The terrace is lovely with shady and sunny areas and wonderful views for sitting and relaxing. There is a good mix of private areas and shared ones.
Our apartments was well equipped and comfortable in an authentic and natural style – with the functional wet room style bathroom and we were very happy with everything We wanted a relaxing stress-free break and it that’s what we got …
We very much enjoyed the area with its verdant beauty. We were able to explore the region both on foot and in the car and were very lucky with good weather throughout.
The food was wonderful and we hope not to miss the ouzo too much….

Memorable holidays

We have too many treasured memories to single out as favourite from our holiday at Madonna Studios in Vatera this year. Waking up to blue skies and the song of birds, picking lemons from the tree in the garden for a refreshing drink, swimming in the beautiful Vatera beach and then relaxing under the amazing sun with a view of the Turkish and Chios shores in the distance …Eating apricots from the back garden , playing cards on our sea view veranda at night and watching the galaxy reveal itself to us….
The comfort of the apartment , with the simple but functional furnishings , the available books at the Book Exchange Shelf , discovering Stavros and Ambeliko , swimming in the warm, clear blue sea at the Lover’s Cove , visiting the Thermal Springs in Polichnitos , visiting the mountain village of Agiasos, the food, the wine and so much more … But if I had to choose the most memorable thing it would be YOU who own and run the place, who made us feel like old friends or family who were over on a regular visit.
We will be seeing you soon again..

Home Comforts
Dear Dimitra,
When we arrived at Madonna Studios, for our holiday there were freshly laundered towels laid out on the beds, smelling of lavender. There was wine, milk , water , homemade apricot preserve and a watermelon in the fridge. Also bread, coffee and tea on the side. It was as though my Mum had popped over and made sure everything was there for us before we arrived.
We loved our holiday so much and are very grateful that this oasis was available to us. We shall return again and again.

Great Hospitality
Dear Dimitra,
Arriving at our apartment at Madonna Studios was amazing!! Finding the wine, coffee, tea ,milk , fresh bread and homemade apricot preserve, is a rare gesture in this day and age.
We woke up at dawn the next day to watch the glitering sea from our veranda , which overlooked the surrounding gardens ... We were joined by a tabby cat and her three kittens and we had one of those magical moments when us and the place seemed in harmony with each other.
Unforgettable.

Stress free enjoyment !
Dear Dimitra,
Staying at Madonna Studios this year completely chilled us out. Your accommodation caters for total rehabilitation, away from the stresses and strains of modern life. It was great discovering all the nooks and cranies in the area that made our holiday so unique.
A perfect holiday. We almost feel as if we don't want to recommend it so we can keep it a secret from everybody else!
We loved it so much we have decided to come back next year for a longer stay in the Autumn and see the olive picking in the organic olive groves and do some walking in the area..

Walking holiday
Hi Dimitra just wanted to thank you and Vaios for helping to make our stay in Vatera so enjoyable.
The apartment was great,the staff looked after us really well, the walks book “ Vatera Around & About” were great - we'd never have found the routes by ourselves and the May Day lunch ( more a feast )was superb.
We enjoyed our week in Skala Kalloni too. As you said, it is very different. We were glad you'd suggested only one week there instead of two. The accommodation was fine but I think we'd been spoiled by the facilities at Madonna & overall we had a wonderful time.
Thanks again for all your organisation and help. Hope your house gets finished this year!

From Holland
Hello Dimitra, we arrived home this afternoon, had a good journey. Strange was that in Holland now it is warmer than in Greece!!
We had a very good time in Lesvos, and enjoyed staying at Madonna Studios in Vatera.
We were glad to have the hotel next to the airport for the last night. It saved us a dark drive on the curved roads after a short sleep.
We hope to see you on the festival at the end of August!

Thermal Springs in Polichnitos
Hi Dimitra, just another thank you for looking after us so well over the past ten days and for the new places to eat in Vatera and Agiasos. Everyone seemed to enjoy their visit immensely - even Monica was back to her old self after seeing the tulips and going to the thermal springs in Polichnitos!
James loves his Greek flag - I gave it to him this morning. I hope the Municipality of Petra can get another one soon! The journey back to Heathrow was very smooth although the meal on the plane was bordering on inedible as usual! It actually took me longer to get from Heathrow to Norwich than it did from Athens to Heathrow. I wasn't a happy bunny when I got home last night!
Back to work now but at least we have a long weekend coming up. Please pass on my regards to Dirk when he arrives.

A Wonderful Holiday

From Belgium to Lesvos
Hello Dimitra, we have stayed the first two weeks of August at your apartment.
We just want to thank you again for your help: with car, bus hours, information about everything,
It were very relaxing weeks. Our last week in Molivos was also wonderful. There we have rented a scooter, so we have seen a lot of Lesbos. You and your family are very friendly and if we decide to come back to Lesbos, we will certainly contact you.
If you want to come to Belgium one time or for a few days, you can stay with us. We have a spare room.

Madonna Studios
Thank you for making us welcome during our stay at Madonna Studios ! We have been to Greece many times and Madonna Studios are definitely one of the nicest places we have stayed at. The rooms are clean and spacious and it was good to have a separate kitchen.
We also found the Madonna bar very handy for a nightcap, and the mini bar in the fridge saved us a few trips to the shops. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back in the future for another game of blackjack!

Beautiful Apartments
The apartments are beautiful, the beds comfortable. The position of "Madonna" is ideal - central and yet set back. The views are to die for. I have had possibly the best holiday ever, with friendly, generous people - encouraged by the informal bar and easy going feel about the place generally. The combination of privacy and friendliness has stopped a single lady from feeling either lonely or overwhelmed for a single moment.
Thank you John for this fortnight. This Shirley Valentine doesn't even want to go home...

Our Third Year
This is our third year in "Madonna" and every year has been as good as the last one. The studios are bright, spacious, comfortable and clean. You simply can't find better. The views are breathtaking from the balcony and the terrace...John mixes a mean cocktail and you can sit at the bar and count the bright stars to your hearts content.
