How Did Madonna Studios Begin?

When we first arrived in Vatera in 1987, there was very little available by way of hotels or rental apartments to stay in but that did not put us off.

Why did we choose to come to Vatera? Because a friend of a friend told us, that it was the perfect, unspoiled place to have a holiday home , with the perfect beach with the crystal clear water, right on the Aegean Sea.

And since for many years before we were looking for the right place to have a holiday home of our own and bring our young children to every summer it seemed a good idea to follow the advice and come to Vatera. ...We had holidays and checked out properties in many other places before ( e.g. Aegina, Evia even in Skala Eresos in Lesvos ) but nothing seemed to be working out for us !

Coming to Vatera proved to be a success ! We weren't disappointed; in fact the whole family fell in love with the place at first sight! And this love affair has continued over the years !

As it turned out well before we were able to have our own holiday home, we set about getting ready "holiday apartments in Vatera - Lesvos" for others:

The Madonna Studios, which are ever improving over the years have been firm favourites with our clients and their families ever since.

In due course we were rewarded with our own home built on the same site: Villa Madonna, where we live in permanently now, so coming to Vatera in the first place, was the best move we ever made.

Our Aparthotel is a small apartments complex –– licensed by the National Tourist Organisation of Greece. It is located in a beautiful hillside within 130 m from the beach with striking panoramic sea views over Vatera Beach.

The location is perfect for those who like to be close to nature, breathing the fresh air, listening to the sound of the birds or the waves at the beach. The complex is very close to all village amenities.

We have our own secluded gardens offering peace and privacy to our clients- each apartment has it own private sea view balcony. Each of the ground floor apartments have their own patio.

The Complex Consists Of:

Five self contained one room apartments with bathroom and kitchenette.

They are usually used for two persons but a third person ( usually a smal child) can be accommodated . These are:

Apartment No. 2 at Ground Floor ( double bed ),

Apartments No 3at Ground Floor ( twin beds )

Apartments No 4at Ground Floor ( twin beds )

Apartment No 6, 9 at First Floor ( double beds )

Four self contained one bedroom apartments with a second room which can be used either as a lounge or second bedroom, bathroom and open plan kitchenette.

They are ideal units for families where up to 4 persons can be accommodated with a baby cot if required in the main bedroom. These are:

Apartment No 5 at Ground Floor ( double bed and two twins )

Apartment No 7, 8, 10 at First Floor ( double bed and two twins )

In all the apartments the kitchenettes are fully equipped with electric cooker, fridge, kettle and crockery items.

Also each apartment has a TV, hairdryer, safety box (at request), air conditioning unitsand the ground floor apartments have central heating.

They are suitable for both summer and winter holidays. There is maid service and change of linen every three days.

We also provide a hospitality tray (coffee, tea, milk and sugar) for that refreshing welcome as soon as you arrive from your journey or for that early morning cuppa.

Hotel Facilities

The Complex benefits from an indoor Breakfast Room, a Licensed Bar (indoor & outdoor); with Wireless ADSL Internet Service to use with our own equipment or yours and an outdoor terrace with satellite TV & BBQ.

The terrace is a favourite spot for our clients where they can relax and enjoy the scenery , play a game of tavli, enjoy a long cooling drink or admire the sunset over the Aegean.

You are welcome to visit our fruit gardens surrounding the apartments where lots of fruit ( peaches , apricots, plums, grapes etc ) and vegetables ( tomatoes, courgettes, peppers etc ) and help yourself - we have more than we can personally usein the season !

Also the five stone terraces located behind the Hotel, which are planted with trees, vines, shrubs and flowers are the ideal location for birdwatching and of course admiring the sunsets over the Aegean, from a vantage point.

There is sufficient private parking space at the front between the lower gardens and the Hotel for the safe parking of clients vehicles.
